Halloween has become a tradition of celebrating the frightening, scary things in life. We laugh at it to shake off fear, but deep down some things terrify us. What things in your life, memories of the past or dread of the future, are continuously haunting YOU?

Black people/people of African heritage have been haunted by the same issues for centuries.

October is Black History Month/African Heritage Month in the UK.  Plus we have just held the annual global Week of Nonviolence and the Blogging Carnival for Nonviolence.

We are discussing issues from the Blogging Carnival for Nonviolence, especially those blogs that were read aloud.  Please join us if you can.

If you have not had a chance to listen to the readings, go here to listen to them.

I also spoke with Ken Fero, filmmaker whose film, Injustice, the police tried to ban back in 2001.  Now, in 2020, these issues still haunt us.  Go here to listen to this conversation

Ceri Buckmaster read from her blog post,"A Letter on the Anniversary of the Shooting of Cherry Groce".  Cherry Groce's shooting has parallels with the killing of Breonna Taylor earlier this year.

How do you feel about these issues?  What is your response to the readings?

Carla Cherry read her very powerful poem, "For the Lovers".  And Zelda Speaks and I read several blog posts.
